Dear members - Please note the following:
1. Land training will stop after this week at all venues for the summer, we will start back in the first week of September.
2. Swim Training has been scaled down for 2 weeks from 16-29 August, please refer to the attachment (below) to see when your session will be on over these 2 weeks.
3. Bank holiday Monday 30 August training will be at Strood pool 11-12am. No swim training in the evening of Monday 30 August.
4. Our swim training timetable will be back to normal as of 1st September 2010 after the summer break.
5. Please remember to enter your club championship entry forms before you go on holiday to avoid disappointment; the closing date is 6th September - all entry forms to Debbie Tills please.
6. Updated Fixture List attached.

August Timetable for Training ... (Posted 20/07/10)
Attached is a revised timetable for 16-29th August. Please note that most swimming clubs shut down completely for a couple of weeks in August, this gives both swimmers and coaches a much needed and well deserved rest. Historically BLSC has not done this but last year the programme was scaled down for two weeks in August and will be again this year - many swimmers and volunteer coaches are away during this period and so offering a full programme would be impossible. Christmas Presentation Night and Disco ... (Posted 27/06/10)
Christmas Presentation Night and Disc will be held on the evening of 18th December 2010 at the Upchurch Village Hall, time to be confirmed.
Beverly Connolly Memorial Trophy ... (Posted 07/06/10)
The Beverly Connolly Memorial Trophy was awarded to Keith Fairweather at the club Open Meet in May. Keith was nominated for his unfaililng commitment to coaching at the club and service to the sport of swimming. Congratulations Keith! Keith with the trophy
Kent Junior League ... (Posted 12/02/10)
BLSC will be taking part in the Kent Junior League again this year. Of interest please see the attached results from 2009 and Division structure for 2010. We have two teams: BLSC A in Division 1 and BLSC B in Division 5. Dates for 2010 gala's will be 19 June, 1 September and 20 November. The wearing of Club Kit at Competitions ... (Posted 08/02/10)
It has been noted at recent competitions that some BLSC swimmers are NOT observing the club rule and NOT wearing Club Kit and Swim Hats. Please remind yourself of the Gala guidelines - Clause 10 which states:
Swimmers must wear the full team kit when attending all swimming competitions (including swimming caps).
This guideline will be more rigidly enforced going forward. If you do not already have Club Kit it is available for purchase from Amanda Jones.

The gala season is upon us again and so if anyone wants:
Polo Shirts from £12.50 • Hoodies from £15 • Tracksuits from £35 • Hats from £5
Please email me with your requirements.
We are also in the process of ordering some t-bags (light weight shirts that don't absorb the water like the polo shirts so they are great for wearing poolside at galas) These will be all black with our logo on and BLSC on the back. If you think you would be interested in one of these please let me know as it will give me an indication of how many to order. They will come in Small, Medium and Large- Amanda Jones

Personal Best Times ... (Posted 09/01/10)
When BLSC submit swimmers gala entries on behalf of the club we are required to sign and confirm all entry times have been achieved by the swimmers. To ensure accuracy throughout 2010 all swimmers entry times will be checked against the BLSC Rankings (Ranx) before submission. We endeavour to maintain the Ranx with correct Personal Best times. If a swimmers PB time is incorrect on the Ranx would you please put a note with the gala entry form stating the date and which gala the PB was achieved. We can then verify and update the Ranx system with the correct time. Thank you.
